The Wimbledon 2026 organization has surprised with the publication of the schedule for Wednesday, July 8th, making one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, such as the one between Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev (if the German wins against Lehecka), not take place on Center Court. They decided to give prominence to the local hero, Arthur Fery, who will try to extend his dream at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

The Center Court will kick off at 1:30 PM local time (2:30 PM in Spain) with the match between Marta Kostyuk and Jasmine Paolini. The Ukrainian is experiencing the best moment of her career after reaching the Roland Garros semifinals and now these quarterfinals, while the Italian continues to show her great consistency on the big stages.

Next up will be the men's clash between Flavio Cobolli and Arthur Fery. The Italian has established himself as one of the big revelations of the season, but he will face the last British representative in the singles draw, driven by the support of the London crowd. The match is scheduled for around 4:30 PM in Spain, although it will depend on the duration of the previous match.

Meanwhile, Court 1 will start an hour earlier, at 1:00 PM local time (2:00 PM in Spain), with the clash between Linda Noskova and Elise Mertens. The Czech is moving towards the elite of the circuit, while the Belgian comes in stronger after causing one of the big upsets of the tournament by defeating Elena Rybakina.

The second match on that court is still pending confirmation. Taylor Fritz is already listed as one of the main players, but his opponent is yet to be determined due to the ongoing round of 16 match between Alexander Zverev and Jiri Lehecka. For this reason, the American will have to wait to know who his opponent will be in what is expected to start around 4:00-4:30 PM Spanish time.
