It would be foolish to doubt Carlos Alcaraz's clear favoritism to win the title at the ATP 500 Tokyo 2025, but it's also something he must earn on the court with great effort. The Spaniard must react to the strange feeling of losing a match, as happened in the Laver Cup, and it will be interesting to see how he recovers from that setback and faces the start of the Asian tour. It will be his first time in the Japanese capital, and he will want to secure victories that solidify his position at the top of the rankings.
Regarding Sebastián Báez, it is necessary to remember the great danger this player poses when he is inspired. Inconsistency marks the days of a man ranked 41st in the world thanks to his title in Rio de Janeiro and finals in Bucharest and Santiago; outside of those tournaments, early defeats accumulate. It seems challenging to think that he could defeat the Spaniard in this ATP Tokyo 2025, against whom he has faced twice, resulting in victories for Alcaraz.
