Now, Juan Carlos Ferrero has finalized his next professional project. The former coach of Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed in an exclusive interview with Eurosport that he will return to the ATP circuit as a coach after ending his successful stint with the Murcia player in December 2025. However, the name of his new pupil will have to wait a few more days.

"Right now, my goal for next year is to be on the circuit. I can already say that I have an agreement in place with a player, it will be revealed on November 9," disclosed the Valencian during a conversation regarding the publication of his book Mentalidad ganadora. Ferrero did not want to provide more details about the identity of the player or the terms of the agreement. "Right now, I can't give details about who it will be, whether I would like it or not…," he added, maintaining the mystery about one of the news items that could generate significant anticipation in tennis heading into 2027.

The interview also addressed the names that have emerged linked to the future of the Spanish coach. One of them is Rafa Jódar, one of the great prospects in national tennis, about whom Ferrero has previously expressed admiration for his talent and ambition. When asked about the possibility of coaching him, the former world number one merely pointed out that working with players of great potential is always attractive for a coach.

He was more definitive when talking about Jannik Sinner, whose name had also come up in speculations about his future. "I'll pass on that, that's something I'll keep to myself. Maybe in the distant future I can say, but right now it's not a possibility," Ferrero affirmed on Eurosport. Therefore, the date marked on the calendar is November 9. On that day, the identity of the player with whom Ferrero will start a new professional adventure will be revealed, thus concluding months of uncertainty since his separation from Alcaraz.
