Ferrer provided the list of players who will be in Bologna.

The 2026 Davis Cup Finals are approaching on the calendar, and the prevailing feeling is that Spain is presenting one of the strongest teams in recent times to reclaim the Salad Bowl. Seven years of drought is a long time: we were close in a memorable last season, with names like Jaume Munar, Pedro Martínez, Marcel Granollers, and Pablo Carreño rising to greatness. This season, with renewed hopes and sensational preparation, our team will arrive in Bologna as one of the leading contenders for the title.

Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Jódar, Alejandro Davidovich, Pedro Martínez, and Marcel Granollers. Depth, versatility, and experience in this competition—a formidable mix that, we hope, will prove to be a winning combination. Blessed is the task David Ferrer faced in his final season as captain, putting together a puzzle from which names like Dani Mérida or Jaume Munar have been left out, a testament to the tremendous competitiveness of our squad and the depth of our tennis.

Ferrer approaches the Finals with enthusiasm: here are his impressions

The word is enthusiasm, though mixed with a sense of responsibility. Ferru shared his first impressions of the roster after the official announcement, unable to hide his excitement, yet fully aware that there is still much work to do and nothing is guaranteed. "We have a very good team, without a doubt. Carlos Alcaraz, Jódar, Davidovich, the doubles with Marcel Granollers...

I am happy to have all these players. Very excited. Obviously, we are one of the favorite teams to win the Davis Cup, but it’s absolutely fine: it’s always better to have the best players,” said the player from Jávea after an announcement that has only confirmed the roster leaked a week ago. Will David be able to give himself one last joy before handing the captaincy over to Marc López? There is no doubt that the chosen material could not be better.
