The 2025 season has come to an end, and it's not only time to revisit the best matches, moments, or tournaments but also to take stock economically and focus on how the world's best players have cashed in. The lucrative bonuses distributed by the ATP, rewarding consistent participation in Masters 1000 or ATP 500 tournaments, have raised a ceiling usually set by the Grand Slams... although the only one to reach a golden figure has been Carlos Alcaraz.

The Murcian has been the absolute leader of the year in terms of prize money. His outstanding results, with two Grand Slam titles and several Masters 1000 titles under his belt, have allowed him to amass a true fortune, specifically $21,354,778, being the only tennis player to surpass the 20 million euros mark on the court. The best part? If Carlitos hadn't missed so many Masters 1000, he could have earned much more: Lorenzo Musetti snatches the honor of being the player who has earned the most money from the Masters 1000 results bonus, although his main pursuer could only be Jannik Sinner.

The San Candido native falls just short of Carlos despite missing an important stretch of the season. However, his magnificent performance in Grand Slams and his tremendous end of the year, triumphing at the ATP Finals (the tournament that offers the most prize money in the ATP tour), have rapidly closed the gap with the Murcian and ended the year with $19,120,641; all this, by the way, without earning a single cent based on the ATP bonuses (not meeting the required number of both played Masters 1000 and ATP 500 tournaments). Without that sanction following the positive test for clostebol, perhaps, a different story would have unfolded... and today we might be speaking of a Sinner as the undisputed king of the circuit's economy.

Perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the additional earnings is Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian hasn't missed a single major event, accumulating numerous points in the Masters 1000 on the clay court season (runner-up in Monte Carlo and semifinalist in Madrid and Rome), results that have made him the player who has accumulated the most money when it comes to the Masters 1000 bonus and ended up 5th in the overall ranking (with $6,345,640). If there's a similarity between the economic table and the numerical one, it's the vast difference that separates Carlos and Jannik from the rest: the third-highest earner this year, Alexander Zverev, has earned significantly less than half of what the Italian has pocketed ($7,468,230; not reaching double digits in millions, with Sinner and Alcaraz being the only ones to do so).

On the other hand, only two players (besides Sinner) within the top-30 have not earned a single euro from the Masters 1000 or ATP 500 bonus: we are talking about Novak Djokovic, with enough concerns at this stage of his career to comply with the ATP, and Jack Draper, whose recent injury has sentenced him to obscurity despite his consistency and good points haul in the earliest major events of the year.

Other interesting data, to conclude, may lie in the great performance of Alejandro Davidovich, the fourth-highest earner in ATP 500 bonuses (just behind Alcaraz, De Minaur, and Zverev, making him the 14th highest-paid player of the year); how Novak Djokovic is close to dropping out of the top-10 (ranking 9th in earnings for the campaign), or the presence in the top-4 of an Alex De Minaur who has maximized his performance in the best tournaments worldwide.
