Full of confidence and knowing that this is his time, Carlos Alcaraz arrives at this meeting, having not dropped a single set so far in the tournament and displaying impressive tennis in New York. Three years ago, he clinched the title here and has not reached a final since. Beating Djokovic would be a chance to avenge what happened in Australia and continue fighting for the world number 1 spot he contests with Sinner.
Regarding Novak Djokovic, it is worth noting the tremendous merit of what the Serbian is achieving by reaching the semifinals at 38 years old, but he is not settling. He wants to prove to himself and others that he is still able to compete against the current two great dominators. His experience and intangibles, coupled with the great tennis and confidence accumulated in the previous rounds, make him a formidable opponent.
