Jannik Sinner continues advancing with the strength of a cyclone in a Roland Garros 2025 where he already steps into the quarterfinals. He has achieved this by dispelling any doubts about possible rust in his comeback, reclaiming a remarkable level early on and maintaining it in every match in Paris. If the match against Lehecka was a blitz, against Andrey Rublev he needed moments to roll up his sleeves, yet he still did not concede a single set on his path to victory.

Has Jannik improved so much on clay compared to last year? How strong does he look at this moment? Nobody better than Sinner himself to answer all these questions, in a press conference held in the mixed zone, where the Italian showed a certain mental relief: after leaving behind the suspension, he feels much more liberated... and there is no better feeling than that to showcase his best version.

- On whether he feels as confident and strong on clay today as he does on hard courts

"It's a good question (smiles). I don't think we can compare a couple of clay tournaments with the results I've had on hard courts. It's clear, though, that I have improved compared to last year, or at least that's how I feel. I think the level is a bit better, and that should be my goal. The results? Some tournaments may be very good, others may not show it, but I'm very happy. Last year I reached the semifinals here, this year at least the quarterfinals, which is a great path for me. The conditions today were fantastic, not too windy, whereas during the daytime I think it was running a bit more. Very happy to be in the quarters."

- Next stop, Alexander Bublik

"A tough match, for sure. Every player who has reached the quarterfinals deserves to be there. I watched a bit, in fact, of his match against Jack... it was a great match. He is playing fantastic, serving very well, varying the game very well, he has a great feel for the ball. I will try to play a consistent, high-level tennis, and we'll see what happens."

- What leaves you with the best feeling about your level and performances so far in the tournament

"I guess the way I stay on the court, with the right attitude, playing every point without giving anything to the opponent, without wasting any shots. Running, playing every point with high intensity... I think that's what makes me most proud."

- On his curious outfit and his coach's post comparing it to Luigi's clothing

"It's fine, it's fine (smiles). Sometimes we need to see the funny side of things. It's nothing different, I think this outfit is great too, you have to change the style a bit, otherwise everything gets a bit boring."

- Have you reached your best level of tennis? Or not yet?

"Of course, I'm playing at a very good level of tennis. We can see that, it's clear. Mentally, I am much freer now, which allows me to be more focused at certain moments. On the other hand, this is only my second tournament. I hadn't played for three months... being back in the quarters here means a lot to me, I don't take anything for granted, and I feel that the level, when I play well, is there. If it wasn't, you couldn't achieve these results. Today I felt that my level was very high again, but in tennis things can change very quickly. My next challenge, for example, is a completely different opponent from what I've faced so far, so we'll see how it goes."
