However, Jannik still doesn't know who his first opponent will be, as it depends on whether Musetti wins in Athens and qualifies, or if Auger-Aliassime enters the draw as the eighth seed. The Canadian seems to be a much more dangerous rival, not only for the Italian but for the other two players in the group as well. There is great interest in seeing what Shelton can deliver, a player who has been struggling with injuries for weeks and not performing at his best, but who could be very dangerous on this surface.

Sinner's favoritism is evident, but then there arises a scenario of great uncertainty about who could accompany him to the semifinals in normal circumstances. Auger-Aliassime would come with a better competitive rhythm and confidence in indoor conditions, but his qualification hangs by a thread. Zverev and Shelton currently raise more doubts than certainties, although if they manage to bring their best performance, they can contend for everything, even to push Jannik to the limit.
