Facundo Bagnis has published an extensive statement after the 12-month sanction imposed by the ITIA, explaining the origin of his doping positive and ensuring that the infraction "was not intentional." After his doping sanction became public, the Argentine wanted to offer his version of the events through a statement on his social media, explaining that he was notified by the International Tennis Integrity Agency on October 2, 2025, of an adverse analytical finding and defended that the positive result was due to the contamination of a vitamin supplement.

"From there began a very long process in which I worked to prove my innocence with documents, investigations, and expertise," wrote Bagnis. The Argentine explained that he finally accepted a 12-month suspension "with ITIA's recognition that the infraction was not intentional." The player also wanted to highlight his collaboration throughout the investigation. "During the process, I offered myself and collaborated 100% with the ITIA providing evidence and specialists, in order to discover the truth and demonstrate that there was never any ill intent on my part," he stated. Additionally, he recalled that he voluntarily accepted a provisional suspension while the case was being resolved.

Bagnis attributed the positive result to a vitamin that had been prescribed by his sports doctor. "I trusted the professional and the pharmacy he recommended, believing that the supplement was reliable and safe," he affirmed. However, he explained that "the vitamin was contaminated with a tiny dose of hydrochlorothiazide, a substance prohibited by WADA."

The Argentine also detailed the evidence he presented during the disciplinary process, including toxicological studies, hair and nail analyses, examination of the remaining capsules, and medical and purchase documentation. According to him, all this evidence supported his account of the accidental contamination of the supplement.

Despite this episode, Bagnis assured that he is already thinking about the future. "Today I must continue with my professional career, leaving behind this very sad and painful episode," he wrote. The tennis player confirmed that he will be able to return to competition on October 19 and concluded his message with gratitude to those who supported him during these months: "Today I find myself reinventing myself and giving my best every day. I sincerely thank everyone," he concluded.
