Facundo Bagnis has published an extensive statement after the 12-month sanction imposed by the ITIA, explaining the origin of his doping positive and ensuring that the infraction "was not intentional." However, he explained that "the vitamin was contaminated with a tiny dose of hydrochlorothiazide, a substance prohibited by WADA."
