Rafa Jódar is the big revelation of 2026, achieving incredible results and having serious chances of playing in the ATP Finals in Turin if he finishes the season well. However, in both the US Open and the ATP Tokyo, he lost early on, which has raised alarms. Therefore, the ATP Shanghai will be key to regaining momentum and restoring the confidence lost in recent weeks.
Thiago Agustín Tirante will be the one tasked with preventing this from happening. The Argentine tennis player has also proven to be a tough opponent this year, defeating rivals such as Novak Djokovic at the ATP Cincinnati and showing that he is one of the biggest hitters on the circuit. Thus, Jódar will have to be very cautious if he doesn't want to see his bad streak extend even further.
