Carlos Alcaraz has returned from the wrist injury that kept him out of the circuit for four and a half months at cruising speed. Despite the inactivity, a small glimpse of what was to come on the Asian tour was seen at the US Open, where he has unleashed himself and is recovering his best version. His forehand is flowing like never before, and his magic remains intact when it comes to winning points that seem impossible for the rest of mortals.
However, he will face a player who is enjoying the best year of his career. The younger Cerúndolo brother has made it into the top 60 and is already a regular in the big tournaments, proving that his tennis is not limited to clay and can achieve great results on any surface. Therefore, he will be a tough opponent against whom Alcaraz cannot relax if he does not want to be surprised, as Jannik Sinner was at Roland Garros, despite the physical issues at play.
