Juan Carlos Ferrero has left open a possibility that, due to its unexpected nature, is particularly attractive for Spanish tennis. Can you imagine the Valencian coaching Rafa Jódar in 2027? The former world number one spoke about the young player from Madrid and did not rule out that their paths might cross in the future if a concrete proposal arises.

Ferrero knows firsthand what it means to work with a young player who has ambition and room for growth. And of course, with Jódar, we have the champion of the 2024 US Open Junior, one of the great promises of Spanish tennis, someone who seems to fit exactly that profile. The coach highlighted in an interview on El Larguero the attitude of the player from Madrid and the eagerness he conveys on the court.

Will Juan Carlos Ferrero coach Rafa Jódar in 2027?

“He shows a lot of hunger and eagerness. I'm not shutting the door, he has a ton of potential, he is very eager, is young, wants to take on the world, and if the offer comes, I will consider it.”

Ferrero's words make it clear that, although there is currently no agreement or concrete negotiation, there is also no prior rejection of the possibility. The Valencian coach would be willing to evaluate a proposal if the opportunity to work alongside Jódar arises at some point. The relationship between the two already has a small point of connection through the Spanish tennis environment, but any future collaboration would represent a significant change for Jódar.

The player from Madrid is looking to establish himself on the professional circuit after making a strong debut and becoming one of the great future bets. As for Ferrero, his experience and knowledge of developing young talents make his words particularly significant. Jódar still has a long journey ahead, but having one of the most prestigious coaches in the world one day could be an immensely valuable opportunity for his career.
