WTA Ranking: Tagger and Korpatsch break into the top 50 and Badosa continues to climb positions

The WTA ranking presents important novelties this week far from the top positions. While the top area remains practically unchanged, Lilli Tagger, Tamara Korpatsch, and Daria Snigur celebrate their respective debuts in the Top-50, while Paula Badosa continues her unstoppable ranking reconstruction.

The main protagonist is Lilli Tagger. Her first WTA title, won in Prague at just 18 years old, allows the Austrian to make a spectacular climb of 29 positions, moving from 74th to 45th place and confirming herself as one of the great promises of world tennis.

Also making personal history is Tamara Korpatsch. The German rises from 71st to 46th in the world after being crowned champion in Hamburg. At 31 years old, she manages to break into the top 50 demonstrating perseverance and longevity.

The third debutant in this select group is Daria Snigur, rewarded for her final in Prague with an improvement of eleven positions, from 54th to 43rd.

The trend for Paula Badosa continues to be particularly promising. Her good performance in Hamburg allows her to gain another nine places and position herself as 84th in the world. After being far from the Top-100, the Spaniard keeps narrowing the gap at a great speed, and each good week is starting to have a significant impact on her ranking.

Among the most affected is Leylah Fernandez, who drops nine positions and falls to 34th place. More pronounced are the declines of Magda Linette, from 51st to 65th, and Catherine McNally, from 53rd to 73rd.

Especially painful is the fall of Taylor Townsend, who drops 22 positions and leaves the Top-100. A week of significant movements that shows how, behind a stable elite, the women's ranking continues to offer rapid changes and new protagonists.
