De Miñaur warns: "I am playing to win and be one of the title contenders"

Alex De Miñaur fulfilled expectations in the first round of the 2026 Australian Open. The Australian faced the press after the victory, making his intentions clear: "I have reached a stage where I am no longer just a number in the main draw. I play to win and be one of the contenders. I am going to give my best, and it's not about settling for reaching a second week, quarterfinals, or semifinals. It's about taking the next step and believing in my abilities, and that will be the only thing that will allow me to do it."
