An arm injury forced Jack Draper to end his season earlier than planned. The British tennis player, currently ranked 10th in the world, was eighth in the Race in a year where he took multiple steps forward but where injuries once again hindered him at his peak.

It's been almost two months since he played his last match on the circuit at the US Open 2025, and in the midst of recovering from those physical issues, Jack Draper spoke in an interview with Tennis Majors about how he feels these days and what his expectations are for his comeback.

"I started to feel something different in Madrid this year. I played with discomfort until Wimbledon, where I had an MRI that revealed a bone bruise on the humerus. Lately, there seems to be some kind of epidemic of this type of injury in tennis. It was hard to accept, especially after working so hard on all other aspects. I felt like this injury was slipping through my fingers. I tried to keep training for the US Open, but I had to withdraw and take some time off," Draper recounted about this injury.

"It was very hard to accept, but sports have their ups and downs. I was on an incredible trajectory; my tennis and physical condition were constantly improving. Adversity always strengthens me, so I try not to stagnate and keep moving forward. I took the opportunity to look to the future. I hope the best years of my career are yet to come; I am 23. Tennis keeps you busy, so it was great to take my first vacation in ten years: I went to Portugal to relax and disconnect from tennis, keeping my body in good shape."

Jack Draper's goal for 2026

"To return to the court with energy and a desire to compete. I want to be among the best and keep improving. With hard work, my team, and staying injury-free, I believe I can reach the top. I would like to surpass the semifinals, be among the top four in Grand Slams, enter the top 10, and win more 250 and 500 tournaments. I aim for more consistency in big events and to go further. Alcaraz and Sinner are far ahead now; it's up to the newer players to challenge them and end their dominance."
