Gauff, first semifinalist in Beijing

The 2025 Beijing WTA 1000 tournament is a prestigious event due to its length, being one of the most important of the season. Just a few minutes ago, we found out the first female singles semifinalist, who happens to be the defending champion. Cori Gauff showed her experience by defeating one of the surprises of the competition, the German Eva Lys (6-3, 6-4) in straight sets. A victory full of expertise that puts her only two steps away from defending her title, although neither of those steps will be easy.
