Despite there still being a considerable bag of points at stake in this Asian tour and in the final stretch of the season, the scenario is becoming clearer regarding the ATP Finals 2025 to be held from November 9 to 16 in the city of Turin. So far, only Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have confirmed their qualification.

The world number one and two didn't take long to show up at that final tournament where the top eight rackets of the season compete for the trophy. While players like Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev are following them in the ATP Race, these next weeks will be crucial to clarify the tickets to the Italian city.

Although several names have yet to confirm their qualification, a couple of players are in the spotlight after the first week of the Asian tour: Lorenzo Musetti, the runner-up in ATP Chengdu 2025, and Alexander Bublik, the winner of ATP Hangzhou 2025, with quite different situations.

Lorenzo Musetti strengthens his chances

In the case of the Italian player, ranked 9th in the world, Lorenzo gained a position to place himself 7th in the race, widening the gap with the player in 8th place. Musetti accumulated 165 points in the week he finished as the runner-up in Chengdu, bringing his total to 3,235 points in the race towards the ATP Finals.

Thus, Musetti, a quarterfinalist in the US Open and a semifinalist in Roland Garros, among other notable results, moved ahead in the ATP Race, surpassing Alex De Miñaur, and staying just over 200 points away from Taylor Fritz, his closest competitor on the list.

Alexander Bublik: the unexpected threat

Despite Jack Draper and Felix Auger-Aliassime being in the 9th and 10th positions, respectively, there are other players knocking on the door from a bit further away. The title in Chengdu has given new hope to Alexander Bublik, who started to lag behind in this competition.

That trophy can change everything, especially if the recent victory of the Kazakh is backed by positive results in the rest of the Asian tour. At present, Bublik is closely observing the situation from the 12th position, with 2,370 points in his pockets in 2025. He is the player with the most titles collected so far this year, alongside Carlos Alcaraz, a fact that underlines the real threat he poses to the other rivals also vying to be at the Inalpi Arena next November.
