Sabalenka digs deep to overcome Tauson

Aryna Sabalenka struggled a lot to overcome Clara Tauson (7-6 6-4). The Belarusian was shaky with her serve in the first set, where there were up to eight breaks between them. In the second set, Sabalenka quickly took the lead, but Tauson began to loosen up and came close to forcing the match into a second tiebreak that could have leveled things. Aryna showed the grit of a world number one and ultimately won the match in two sets. Her next opponent will be Magdalena Frech or Mirra Andreeva.
