Linda Noskova is now part of the history of Wimbledon. The young Czech tennis player defeated Marta Kostyuk in straight sets to qualify for her first Grand Slam final, where she will face her compatriot Karolina Muchova in a duel that will guarantee a new title for Czech tennis.

Far from being carried away by euphoria, Noskova explained that she is still processing what she has achieved and her mind is already focused on the championship match. The Czech number two also spoke about her relationship with Muchova, the great moment her tennis is going through, her country's tradition on the London grass, and the importance her serve has had in her spectacular journey during these two weeks.

Linda Noskova and the excitement of her first Grand Slam final

"I don't really know how I feel. It was a great match, I managed to stay calm all the time, which was my main goal. I am satisfied [...] Then I couldn't believe it, you always want to experience moments like this and win such important matches, but when it actually happens, you don't really know how to react. I always assimilate my successes when everything is over. Right now, I feel like I'm already focused on the final, it will be after the tournament when I really realize everything.

When I was little, I treated all tournaments the same, I didn't even know how difficult it was to get here. If I had known how complicated it is, but also how beautiful it is, I would have done it again the same way. Today was the first time I stepped on Centre Court, I hadn't even been there before as a spectator, it was a very special moment, although I haven't processed it yet. When the tournament ends, I'll have to look at the photos to believe all this."

Duel with Muchova, Czech tennis, and a decisive serve

"Karolina is a great player and a great person, although I didn't really know her until a few years ago when I joined the circuit. At the Olympics, we spent a lot of time together because we played doubles and we were very close to winning a medal, that's when we really started to get to know each other. When she reached the final of Roland Garros, I was watching her and, of course, cheering for her. I always want Czech players to succeed.

These results are already a tradition. In the Czech Republic, we all grow up with a very similar tennis base, although each of us has our own style. We are creative players, and grass allows us to use many resources, from volleys to sliced shots or offensive play. That partly explains why our players usually perform so well at Wimbledon.

In my case, I have been working hard on my serve for a couple of years, and lately, it has been helping me a lot. On grass and hard courts, it can become your best weapon; I always try to focus on my service games. What happens on the return doesn't always depend on me, but the serve is the shot I concentrate on the most."

Objective: enjoy the moment and keep growing

"I did not expect these results, but success always comes out of nowhere, and you cannot plan when it will arrive. After Roland Garros, I was mentally very tired because the clay season had been very long, and Paris was a disaster for me. I needed to reset, to enjoy being on the court again, and that is precisely what has brought me here. At this level, the big things no longer make a difference, but those small percentages.

I think I am playing fantastic tennis; when I feel happy and relaxed off the court, it is reflected inside. Here, everyone has a very high level, so the little details are what decide matches. Also, I feel that my style of play fits perfectly with grass and is bearing fruit. Now I don't want to get distracted; I'm not looking for my name on the internet to read what they say about me. Social media is not a place I particularly enjoy; I prefer to stay away and focus on what really matters."
