Wimbledon 2026 is just around the corner, and one of the main and most important events is, without a doubt, the draw. Great stories are sometimes born from the luck of the pairings, and the graves of great champions are dug, with capricious chance working in mysterious ways... although there will be at least some frameworks to work on: we already know the eight main seeds of the tournament.

You know how it all works: first and second favorite on different sides of the draw, third and fourth title contender on one of those two sides. In this case, the honor of leading the title contenders list belongs to Jannik Sinner, the clear dominator of the circuit in recent months, but without Slams to his name, and Alexander Zverev, the one who took advantage of the chaos in Paris to assert himself, also with Alcaraz's absence, as the great alternative to Jannik, the man prepared to make the leap in case the Italian fails at some point.

Sinner could face Djokovic in the quarterfinals: what other great matchups could we see at Wimbledon?

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Ben Shelton will be the third and fourth seeds, respectively; the Canadian collected enough points in Paris (quarterfinalist) to stay near the top, and the grass speed might be lethal for his serve. Perhaps, he will occupy the same level of favoritism as Shelton, who is on the rise after winning the title in Stuttgart. One of them will be the potential opponent for Sinner in the semifinals.

However, the real deal will be in possible quarterfinals of sheer excitement. Here, as was the case in Roland Garros, the name of Novak Djokovic appears: perhaps a significant part of the Serbian's chances to win the 25th depends on avoiding Jannik until a hypothetical final, being aware that they could face each other as early as the quarterfinals. Right now, Nole would be the 7th seed, although Daniil Medvedev can surpass him if he reaches the final in Halle; likewise, regardless of the position, he is the big name to avoid for the top four seeds.

To complete the puzzle, Taylor Fritz, who just defeated Shelton in the Halle quarterfinals and is emerging as a reborn man, spurred on by the comfort he feels on the grass, and Alex de Miñaur will be the sixth and fifth seeds, respectively, unless Daniil clinches the title in German land, in which case the Russian would rise to sixth place. Perhaps Demon presents the worst form; he just surprisingly lost to Brandon Nakashima in the Queen's quarterfinals, and his season has truly been irregular by the standards we are used to.
