Granollers opens up and describes the sensations of an absolutely historic week

- Immediate feelings after the defeat in the Davis Cup final

"Now we have mixed feelings. We are a bit sad because we could not win this Davis Cup. Once you are in the final, all you think about is winning... but on the other hand, we have to be proud because we had a very good tournament. All the players performed at a very high level, the commitment of the team has been enormous. We also want to thank the support of the people, it has been huge, we felt that support and it made us fight until the last point."

- What does this human group have that has lifted them to the final

"We all have a very similar personality. We are committed players, we have supported each other a lot. We know the format of this competition: we were not favorites in any of the ties, but we know that winning one point could lead to the doubles, and in doubles, anything can happen... and we believed in that. We believed that by competing, we had chances, and we did until today, but that's tennis, sometimes it slips away due to details, and today was like that."

- Describing each team member in one or two words

"Without personalizing, I want to say that we are very proud. It's an honor to belong to this team. We have all fought, struggled, rowed in the same direction, and that's what it's all about: in the Davis Cup, if you want to be successful, it must be like this, and I think it has clearly been. We were very close to forcing a decisive doubles match. We will keep trying."

- Emphasizing the importance of doubles discipline after two great matches

"In this competition, the doubles play a very important role. You see many ties decided in the doubles, so it's crucial to have a good doubles team. The Davis Cup, for example, can be decided in the final's doubles match. Pedro and I played at a high level, showing that we can form a good partnership, and to win a Davis Cup, you need a strong doubles team."

- Wishes and dreams for the upcoming seasons, personally and in a Davis Cup context

"What I want is to find this balance I am having and enjoy day by day, tournaments... I know I am at an age where I don't have many years left, so the goal is to find that balance in my career."
