The controversy between Cobolli and Wawrinka over a ball that slipped away from the Italian

Controversy arose on this Sunday at the United Cup 2026. During the singles match between Stan Wawrinka and Flavio Cobolli, the young Italian dropped a ball from his pocket, halting the exchange immediately. Despite the argument with the chair umpire and a discussion with Wawrinka, the rule was clear. Since Cobolli admitted his own fault, the point went to Stan.
