Flavio Cobolli was one of the main protagonists in these recent days with his spectacular comeback against Jaume Munar to defeat Spain in the grand final of the Davis Cup 2025. The Italian gave his all to lead his team to the trophy. Days after the resounding victory, Flavio made his upcoming goals clear.

"I had never felt such great emotion, an entire stadium chanting my name. I had fun, even when I had to bounce back from a set down against Munar, I was learning. I understood that, as Volandri says, you don't always win the Davis Cup with champions. Alcaraz didn't win in Malaga, this year Zverev lost in the semifinals. I realized that it takes a special attachment to the shirt and a desire to win that goes beyond one's own qualities," Flavio confessed in an interview with the Corriere della Sera, as reported by Ubitennis.

"Jannik is essential in everything he does, but in Bologna, with time, a strong belief developed. In training, I didn't play well, always losing, but that feeling grew and made us all feel invincible. Everyone did their part. Sonego didn't miss a single point, not even to go to the bathroom. Bolelli and Vavassori provided great encouragement, I supported Matteo and then he supported me. Everyone played their part."

Cobolli's Goals for the Next Season

"This is a topic we will address during the preseason, after the holidays. I trust those around me, especially my father, so I rely on him. My goal is clear: to enter the top 10. I don't know when or how, but certainly, to keep up with Jannik and the others, I have to work on my weaknesses. I have to improve my level of play. I don't feel like I have to win every time, but to grow, I have to play, both winning and losing.

So far, my career has progressed gradually, growing steadily, as I like it. Even in team competitions like the Davis Cup, but also in the United Cup and the Laver Cup. I first competed as a reserve and then as a key player. I climbed each step, without losing pace, in an authentic, almost naive way. That's how the path is built, and for me, Bologna will always be a key turning point."
