As we stand on the threshold of a new WTA Finals, it is interesting to hear the eight masters analyzing the impact that this season has had on them. Today, we bring you the reflections of Iga Swiatek on this 2025.

I don't know if you'll agree with me, but this schedule leaves me with the feeling that Iga Swiatek has lost some focus on the stage. It shouldn't be the case, as she came out as the champion at Wimbledon, remains in the world's top 2, and displays a consistency like few others. However, there is not as much talk about her out there. A small step back that may have even benefited her, although this is my personal opinion. To find out her thoughts, it's best to refer to the WTA archives and listen to the analysis she presents before facing the WTA Finals in Riyadh starting tomorrow.

"I've been lucky to play several WTA finals this season, so I am very proud of myself. I am very satisfied with staying in the top 10 since the beginning of the year, so I hope to continue like this. Obviously, I had many ups and downs; the first part of the season was very tough for me, indeed I played many semifinals but didn't win any titles," recalls the Polish player about her journey. "On the other hand, I won Wimbledon, which is twice as important to me as winning any other tournament, so I consider this season a success, even though there is still one tournament to go," she affirms.

"I approach these WTA Finals with the mindset that each match is different," points out the 2023 champion. "Obviously, I will try to focus on how I want to start each match, increase the intensity from the first ball; maintaining that level of concentration is fundamental for me. I usually enter listening to music to stay energized, which is why you always see me with headphones. Then, during the match, there are many moments where you have time to think; that is the hardest part. That's where you have to manage those thoughts and not let your mind wander," explains the six-time major champion.

What is success for Iga Swiatek?

A question that never disappoints, especially when it falls into the hands of someone accustomed to winning and, therefore someone who lives daily with demands and dissatisfaction. This is probably the biggest lesson Iga has learned this season, that not everything is about being in the photo with the trophy, but that behind that picture, there are many more layers that deserve to be valued. Swiatek already knows that she won't be able to finish the season at the top of the rankings, but this has long ceased to be a problem for her.

"I have understood that you cannot always win, that you can do a great job and still lose, as on the other side of the net there is another great player. Success is simply being better than yesterday. Success also lies in achieving some objectives that may have nothing to do with the final score or winning, but with the entire process and the fact of becoming a better player," concludes the player from Warsaw, a woman who will seek to harvest a bag of confidence in Riyadh to end this 2025 on the best possible note.
