Vondrousova withdraws from the US Open hours before her quarterfinal match against Sabalenka

A piece of news we never like to deliver, especially when it comes just hours before a Grand Slam quarterfinal match. Marketa Vondrousova has been forced to withdraw from the US Open before her duel against Aryna Sabalenka, who now advances straight to the semifinals, where she will face Jessica Pegula. This has been confirmed by the tournament organization, which will need to reorganize the order of play for the night session at Arthur Ashe.

Marketa Vondrousova has withdrawn from the Women's Singles event with an injury.

A revised schedule for tonight's evening session will follow shortly.
